Giving Things & Money
Thank you for wanting to give your items through your local Besom. Before you contact us, please ensure that it is of good quality and clean. Once you are confident that it will be a blessing to its recipient, please take a photo of it and email it to us at dorkingbesom@live.co.uk
Below is a selection of all the items we are interested in.
White Goods & Electrical Items
Washing machines, cookers (gas and electric) up to 60 cm wide, microwave ovens, under counter fridges and freezers and fridge freezers.
TV's with integrated Freeview TV.
Smaller electrical items such as kettle, toasters and lamps
All items must be clean and in good order.
Please note that we will electrically test and ensure items are up to current required standards before accepting.
Sorry we do not accept dishwashers and tumble dryers
Furniture
Folding tables, dining chairs, sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, occasional tables, nests of tables, chest of drawers, bedside tables etc.
Furniture containing material must have a fire tag attached.
Giving Money
We rely on donations to enable us to cover the costs of running our van and the small unit we have in Dorking to store items.
Donations can also be used to provide direct support to our recipients e.g. installing cookers, curtain tracks and purchasing white goods when in short supply.

Kitchen & Dining
Essential kitchen items, such as sets of cutlery, crockery, saucepans, frying pans, ovenware, bakeware and kitchen utensils.
Other Household Items
Towels, tea towels, mirrors, pictures, cushions and rugs.
Bedding
Single and standard double beds, mattresses. Beds with fabric and mattresses must have a fire tag attached.
Duvets and matched sets of bedding(duvet covers, sheets and pillow cases)
Items should be in good condition with no staining.
We do not accept larger beds, bed spreads and eider downs.
